Salem, IN (May 16, 2018) – The Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action with the EDCO Welding 50 as part of the Rusty Wallace Automotive Group Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway Presented by Vore’s Welding, this coming Sunday. More than 300 race cars split among six classes are expected to be in competition during the three-day event, including racing in Super Late Models, JEGS Pro/Crate Late Models, Late Model Stocks, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Compacts.
Thanks to Mother Nature, Saturday’s event will only be the second event of the season for the CRA Street Stocks, with two events rescheduled because of rain and another canceled because of cold temperatures. Jake McElfresh finished second in that event with Evan Burch in third place.
Hudson comes into this weekend’s event with the series points lead, he has a 28 point lead over second place Brian Hopkins. The #03 team owned by John Bennett is in third place in series owner’s points, three points behind Hopkins. Nathan Green is in fourth place, he is two points behind the Bennett owned team. McElfresh rounds out the top five, he is two points behind Green. The top four in series owner points, not locked in through qualifying are guaranteed a start in the EDCO Welding 50. By virtue of their first and second place finish at Shadybowl, Hudson and McElfresh are also guaranteed starters for the EDCO Welding 50.
